About RainStay

Following the development of SmartStorm, the staff at CRWA spent several years field testing the system and individual components.  Systems were installed at a number of homes and the performance was monitored over the changing seasons.  This testing yielded valuable practical experience in designing and installing the systems.  It also led to several changes that resulted in a product that is well-suited to our harsh climate

RainStay was established in 2003 to market and distribute SmartStorm systems to the public.  The work of transporting, excavating and installation, formerly contracted out was brought in house.  Machinery was purchased specifically for these tasks with the goal of minimizing disturbance to landscaped yards.  RainStay is fully insured.

RainStay is owned and operated by Kenneth Dews, a former employee of CRWA who has been involved with SmartStorm from its inception.  Mr. Dews holds a Masters degree in Environmental Management and is a registered Home Improvement Contractor and Licensed Hoisting Engineer in the State of Massachusetts.
